Questions about Unfamiliar Charges [Android/Google Play]

We understand that seeing a potential unfamiliar charge may be frustrating, but please know that we do not have the ability to charge any player without the player's authorization, and cannot charge players more than the presented item price. If you are seeing an unfamiliar charge on your statement, it may be caused by one of the following reasons:

1) Authorizations

When making purchases through Google Play, you may see pending payment authorizations on your card statement. These Authorizations happen so Google can make sure the card is valid, and check that you have enough funds in the account to make the purchase. These are authorization requests by Google and not charges. They may stay in your account for 1-14 business days depending on your bank. For further inquiries about authorization by Google, please visit their support page. Google Support: Charges & Authorizations

2) Charges & Taxes

When making purchases through Google Play, you only pay for your purchases, applicable taxes, and applicable delivery fees. Charges appear on your statement as GOOGLE*Seller's name and usually show up on your statement within a few days of your order's placement. Depending on your location, your bank or card company may charge fees for international transactions.

For U.S. customers, some states charge a sales tax on purchases made within games. Requirements for the taxability of digital content may be different depending on the particular state. Cash Rally is in compliance with these taxes which are processed through Google Services. As these vary, you may notice a slight difference in charges depending on where you live.

For E.U Customers, Google is responsible for charging, collecting, and remitting the VAT on sales as a result of changes in EU VAT legislation. Google Support: Sales Tax

Different Countries may also have different pricing. This may be due to:
  • Differences between the values of the currencies
  • Specific taxation laws for that region
  • Processing fees and operating costs in different countries.
Pricing of in-game packages and items may vary from country to country. Prices may also vary between the App Store and Google Play. As such, the taxation, fees, and cost differences will be specific to each country and local territory; which may include region, state, or province based on their specific taxation requirements.

3) Currency Conversions

Depending on what Google Service you use to make a purchase, the currency you're billed in may not be in the currency of your home country.

Google will charge you in the currency of your home country. Google will get this information from the home address that you've added to your account. If that's not possible, you'll be charged in a different currency. For those outside the United States, this usually means being charged in U.S. Dollars. For more information, please see Google Support: Currency Conversion

4) Family Groups & Authorizations

When you're in a family group, you can make purchases on Google Play using the family payment method or a separate payment method.

If you are set up on a Family Payment Method with Google Play, included Family members can use the family payment method to make in-app purchases and buy content on Google Play, including Apps, books, games, and more.

These Google account settings can be set up to include authorizations, such as requiring a password to authorize purchases through Google Play. For more information on Family Groups and Authorizations through Google, please see the following links. Google: Family Payment Methods / Google: Authentication settings

5) Reviewing Charges

When you make a purchase through Google Play, they will send a confirmation email with your order information to the Google Account you use when making the purchase. You can always see your order history on Google Play or by visiting http://pay.google.com/

On your billing statement, all Google Play purchases will appear on your statement under the following names.
  • "GOOGLE*App Developer name" (For Android Apps)
  • "GOOGLE*App name" (For Android Apps)
  • "GOOGLE*Content type" (i.e. "GOOGLE*Books")
You will be charged shortly after you purchase content on Google Play. You'll see any changes to your Google Play balance appear immediately, and charges to other payment methods generally appear within a few days.

If the charge in question isn't in one of these formats, it didn't come from Google Play or Google Play services.
